A 30-second video is worth 720.000 words since we have 24 images per second and an image is worth 1000 words 😉
If you visit the ‘Edit profile’ page on deemly, you will find a new section where you can use your webcam to record a 30 sec video to use on your deemly profile page.
Once you have recorded a video, we will show a “Meet You”-button next to your profile image.
When visitors come to your profile, they just have to click the button and we’ll play the video for them.
The feature itself is quite simple. When you click the “Record video” button your browser will ask for permission to access the computer’s webcam, and you are ready to go. Your browser might show you a settings window like this:
When you start recording, you will see a countdown timer, which helps you know how much time you have left. After you finish recording, you can preview and approve the video, or give it another go.
What should I say in the video?
30 seconds might not seem a lot, but you will have plenty of time to give a good first impression. It is always a good idea to begin with your name. From here you can go further i.e. with one or more of the following suggestions:
- Where are you from?
- What interests you?
- How do you enjoy your spare time?
- Some of your favorite things
- A fun fact about yourself?
You can also be creative and come up with something yourself. The important thing here is to give the viewer an idea about what kind of person you are.
A good video
Just a few tips on how to make a good video:
- Sit at the arm’s length from your camera
- Have a light in front of you
- Look into the camera
- Speak slowly and clearly
